“I build each piece by hand, coaxing clay into forms that speak of both function and expression. My ceramics serve as canvases for vibrant drawings that dance across surfaces, telling stories through color and line.
Working primarily with underglazes, I layer bright colors that interact in unexpected ways—electric blues bleeding into sunny yellows, coral pinks nestling against deep forest greens. These color relationships are my constant fascination, each combination creating its own emotional landscape. My drawings, often inspired by botanical patterns and abstract geometries, wrap themselves around bowls and vases, inviting the viewer to rotate the piece, discovering new details with each turn. This marriage of form and surface is where I find my voice as an artist—in the space where clay becomes both vessel and visual poetry.” - Carol Limia |
