Julia McCouaig's work is informed and inspired by her love of the coast and the sea; indeed, the McCouaig residence is renowned locally as "The Octopus House" thanks to Julia's stunning installation exhibited as part of the "Window Wanderland" community arts event, that turns streets all over the world into art galleries.
Often taking photography as her starting point, Julia subsequently employs a wide range of media, ensuring that each piece is completely unique.
Simon McCouaig's creative path takes a different route. A star of modern military illustration, he has illustrated several volumes for Osprey Publishing's renowned series of military publications. Favouring portraiture as his subject, Simon's paintings are an object lesson in precision, bringing to life the past and the present seemingly effortlessly. His commissioned works are in museums, military messes and homes all over the world and he has won many prizes and awards in national exhibitions. Simon is also Artist in Residence of The Soldiers of Gloucestershire museum. He works to commission only. |
