“I am a wildlife watcher and all my paintings start with something I have observed out in the wild. Some artworks weave a narrative around a natural history truth, others are simply captured moments - such as the powerful stare of a barn owl while I observed her or a golden eagle being challenged by a bumblebee. I especially love butterflies and many pieces feature these ethereal creatures.
After graduating from UWE Bristol with First class honours in Fine Art, I worked in model-making and painting for film, animation and exhibition for some years before deciding to paint what I love full time. My work has a similar idealised look and detail, painstakingly put together (sometimes over months) using acrylic and enamel, watercolour, pencil and ink. I have won awards for my work including Best Regional Artist (South West Britain) and am an Artist Member of the Royal West of England Academy, North Somerset Arts and The Wildlife Artists Society International. I show and sell my paintings in the UK and beyond and am open to commissions and residencies.” Lucy Fraser 2025 |
