Poundshop Life is a Bristol based band playing regular gigs and recording since 2009. Our new album - Insert name here - is available from all download and streaming sites.
Poundshop Life play lively, infectious (but curable) original songs reflecting on whatever needs reflecting, stoically celebrating the good, bad and daft bits of daily life. Cheap and cheerful, and very good live! Poundshop Life songs have both immediacy and, often, a story to tell, conversational in style and at times feeling like you've been dropped into a movie running in someone else's head; the sort of dysfunctional, downmarket, political, crime story of unrequited love that you'd expect in the Poundshop Life. These stories, the songs, are easy to get into and are very well received by fans of all sorts of music genres, drawing the listener below the apparently simple surface to the humour and hidden depths where things that bite may sometimes lurk. |

Previously playing together for 14 years under the guise of Slick and Rich, the duo’s strong links to the South West’s music scene have helped define their sound. Both Rich & Mike have had their struggles in life with losses of loved ones, mental health and addiction and this is reflected in their songs . They hope that through music they can help and inspire others to heal. They are currently working on their first album Born and Brewed Est, which reflects their life stories in an authentic way through music.
