Calling all amateur BS20 photographers! We invite you to submit your original images of North Somerset. So delve into your archives, or pick up your camera or phone (or Mum or Dad’s!) and enter the ARTPORT23 photography competition.

It’s easy to enter, and we welcome and encourage photographers of all ages, with FREE ENTRY for under 18s.

WHY SHOULD I TAKE PART IN THE ARTPORT 2023 PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION?

SEE YOUR WORK IN A REAL EXHIBITION
All competition entries will be professionally printed for you and exhibited in Somerset Hall as part of the ArtPort23 festival.

SEE YOUR WORK SHARED ON THE FESTIVAL WEBSITE
As well as seeing your work exhibited at the festival, we’ll also share the winners and our favourites on our website and social media.

GET RECOGNITION OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

KEY DATES
- Submissions open 1st August 2023
- Submissions close at 5pm on Thursday 14th September, 2023.
- ArtPort Festival runs Saturday 23rd - Sunday 24th September, 2023.

ENTRY FEE
There is a small entry fee of £2.50 per photo, or 3 entries for £6.00 offer, towards the costs of printing the photos for display in Somerset Hall. After the competition closes you are welcome to keep your prints.

HOW TO PAY
You can pay online by PayPal, or by going in to Nortech Computers, on Portishead High Street. There are different entry forms and instructions for each.

THE THEME
To enter, all you have to do is take one or more photographs that fit with the theme “BS20”
We want to see your creativity and imagination at work - so surprise us with your unique interpretation of our theme
Remember - your photos must be taken within BS20.
WHAT TO DO

1. ENTRY FORM
Download and complete the correct entry form (according to how you want to pay). You’ll find the entry forms further down the page.
If you want to pay by PayPal, use the PAYPAL form; if you want to pay by going in to NorTech, please PRINT OFF AND COMPLETE THE NORTECH form (copies of form also available at NorTech).

2. PAYMENT
  • A small entry fee is charged to help towards the cost of professionally printing all photographs at A4 size for the exhibition (you are welcome to collect and keep your photographs afterwards).
  • ​The entry fees are: £2.50 per photograph, or 3 photographic entries for £6.00.
  • ​The first 10 photographs entered in the Under 18s category will be FREE - so don’t delay! (Please pay when submitting your entries and if you are eligible you will be refunded).
  • You can pay online by PayPal, or in person at NorTech Computers on Portishead High Street. (Full instructions are in each relevant entry form).

3. SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS
  • ALL photographs must be submitted by email to: pafphotocomp@gmail.com (For full details of suitable file formats and sizes please refer to the terms and conditions)
  • Please make sure you have read our full terms and conditions and that your entry complies with them.
  • Mark the date of ArtPort 23 Portishead Arts Festival in your diary (23-24September 2023) 😀
