TRISH WILLIAMS I PAINTINGS
Creativity has been an intrinsic part of my make up since a child and something that continued through to college days. Sadly, further art education wasn’t available to me so I opted for teacher-training with art as my main subject. The many years teaching art have been incredibly rewarding but it wasn’t until early retirement I have been able to follow my own artistic path. I’d describe my art as fairly diverse as I’m continually inspired by different threads/directions, which could mean I’m working on an oil portrait one week and a collage the next. Collages are an exciting new media for me; they are created using hand-painted papers and acrylics. Every collage starts with a general composition and plan but usually evolves in to something completely different. Each painting is a delightful journey of unexpected outcomes. Like many artists, the natural world remains my biggest source of inspiration and I’m drawn to a variety of subjects - perhaps a plant growing from a crack in the wall or a bee doing its own thing. Garden birds are a popular subject. Examples of my work can be found on my Instagram page.
