ARTPORT | PORTISHEAD ARTS FESTIVAL

Welcome to ArtPort - Home of Portishead Arts Festival.

ArtPort is a community-focused event that brings together art, music, and creativity in all its forms, right here at the heart of our wonderful estuary location, on the North Somerset coast. Our aim is to make art and creativity accessible to all members of our community, by bringing it out of traditional spaces (galleries, theatres, concert halls) and placing opportunities to experience art right in the centre of our town, in well-used and well-recognised community spaces.

Entirely run by volunteers, the festival and its contributors work hard to bring together a range of events and creative experiences for all age groups - a considered programme of artists and makers, workshops and demonstrations, live musical performances, dance events, art trails, film and more.

2023 is only our third year - but look how far we’ve come in such a short time!
We are twice as big as last year, offering more wonderful opportunities to see, hear and take part in fun, enriching, creative and community experiences right here in our fabulous town, on the edge of the old Severn Sea.

How it all began…
The brainchild of local resident Nicola Holland, Portishead Arts Festival is now in its third year. Nicola moved to Portishead from Bristol five years ago and was immediately smitten by Portishead’s unique combination of location, history and thriving contemporary arts community.
​ “I had lived in Bristol for more than a decade and yet knew almost nothing about our close neighbour, Portishead! When I settled my young family here, I knew we had found our forever home - so much so that I became a Portishead councillor.
Portishead is definitely a town on the up and I wanted to raise its profile. We have an amazing location and a thriving resident artistic community in Somerset - an inclusive, community arts festival was an obvious choice to help us share our wonderful area with more people.”
